Substantive description of the model

The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-4 was one of the most widespread variants of the legendary German Bf 109 fighter. The G-4 version was an improved variant of the G-2, introducing, among other things, enhanced communication equipment and the ability to install radar systems. Entering service in mid-1942, the Bf 109G-4 operated on all fronts—from the fighting on the Eastern Front in the USSR, through operations in Italy and North Africa, to the skies over Western Europe. It was used by pilots from famous German units such as Jagdgeschwader 27 and JG 53, taking part in operations like the Battle of Stalingrad and combat during the Allied invasion of Sicily.

Advantages of the Eduard 82117 set

  • Perfect detail quality – highly accurate surface detailing, panel lines, cockpit and armament details.

  • Five marking options – allow you to choose from various Luftwaffe unit markings from different theaters of war.
  • High-quality decals with fine details, ensuring authentic finishes.
  • Comprehensive step-by-step instructions supporting precise assembly and painting of the kit.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
