Su-27K (NATO reporting name: Flanker D) is the carrier-borne version of the legendary Su-27 fighter, developed for Russian aircraft carriers such as "Admiral Kuznetsov". Introduced into service in the 1990s, the Su-27K (also known as Su-33) was designed to operate from limited-sized carrier decks while maintaining the excellent performance of its original predecessor. These aircraft have participated in various exercises and patrol missions of the Russian fleet during the Cold War and modern times, as well as in operations in Syria.
