Historical note: The Fairey Firefly Mk.1 was among the first carrier-based fighters of the RAF to introduce a four-seat cockpit and the powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. Its combat debut took place during the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz in July 1944 in a Norwegian fjord, already showing remarkable effectiveness as both an escort fighter and strike aircraft. The Firefly Mk.1 served until the mid-1950s and in special variants was also used as a target tug until the early 1960s.
