The Pantherturm, i.e., a Panther tank turret fighting position mounted on fixed fortifications, was the German response to the deteriorating situation at the front. Such fortifications were placed both on the Eastern Front and within the Siegfried Line or strongpoints in several cities, e.g., during the defense of Berlin.
