Airfix 0353 Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer 'Late Version' 1/35 – Plastic model kit

Airfix 0353 Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer 'Late Version' 1/35 is a detailed model of the iconic German Hetzer tank destroyer in 1/35 scale, intended for historical modeling enthusiasts. This kit from renowned manufacturer Airfix is an excellent replica of the late version of the Hetzer – a vehicle that played a significant role in the final years of World War II.

  • Category: plastic model kit
  • Scale: 1/35
  • Country of service: Germany (Wehrmacht), Czechoslovakia (post-WWII, designated ST-1)
  • Period of use: World War II (1944-1945), shortly after the war in the Czechoslovak army
  • Material: high-quality plastic (polystyrene)
  • Contents: model parts, decals, assembly instructions (no metal/resin parts in the basic set)

The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was one of the most important German tank destroyers of World War II. Its development was based on the proven chassis of the Czechoslovak Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) tank, which allowed the Germans to maintain high production levels. The Hetzer was distinguished by its low profile, excellently sloped armor plates, and the effective 75 mm PaK 39 L/48 gun, supported by an MG34 or MG 42 machine gun. It was widely used on both the Eastern and Western Fronts – for instance, it played an important role during the battles in Poland against the Red Army, as well as in the defense of the Third Reich in 1944-1945. After the war, Hetzer vehicles ended up in the Czechoslovak army, where under a new designation they remained in use for years.

The Airfix 0353 model features a finely detailed shape – with realistic late-production details, including distinctive stepped armor elements of the upper hull and suspension details. All parts are made from precisely cast plastic. The included decals allow you to recreate several historical paint variants.

We recommend this model for both experienced modelers and those wishing to enhance their collection of late-World War II armored vehicles. It will be especially appreciated by fans of German military technology and historical reenactments. The difficulty level is 4/5 – basic experience with modeling and modeling tools is recommended. Once assembled, the model looks impressive in any battle diorama.

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
