Historical background of the Arado Ar 68E model

The Arado Ar 68E is a German biplane fighter used by the Luftwaffe during the interwar period and at the beginning of World War II. Developed by Arado Flugzeugwerke, the Ar 68E was mainly used as a training and frontline fighter aircraft. It took part in the training of Luftwaffe aces and in combat operations during early wartime campaigns, including in Spain during the Civil War (1936–1939). The Ar 68E model was used between 1936–1940, before being replaced by more modern machines.

Advantages of Eduard EX676 masks

  • Perfect fit to the original model components
  • Shorten preparation and painting time, ensuring crisp dividing lines on windows and tires
  • Easy application – clear step-by-step assembly instructions
  • Reduce the risk of damaging delicate elements during painting

Recommendation

This product is especially recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers who want to achieve the highest detail realism in the Ar 68E model in 1/48 scale. Eduard masks significantly improve the finish quality of the cockpit and wheels, making the model look professional both in a collection and at a competition display.

Difficulty level: 2/5 – also suitable for beginners wishing to improve their skills in precise detail painting.

Scale
1/48

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
