Zvezda 7036 Tupolev Tu-134UBL "Crusty-B" 1/144 – Plastic model of the Soviet training aircraft

The Zvezda 7036 model represents an extremely detailed miniature of the Soviet Tupolev Tu-134UBL training aircraft in 1/144 scale. This plastic model kit is dedicated both to fans of civil and military aviation, ideal for collectors interested in the Cold War period and modern air forces.

The UBL designation (Учебно-Боевая Летающая лаборатория – Combat Training Flying Laboratory) refers to a special version of the Tu-134, adapted for the training of strategic bomber pilots, such as those of the Tu-160 and Tu-22M. Tu-134UBL aircraft were primarily used by the Air Forces of the USSR and Russia, as well as by the air forces of some other Warsaw Pact states from the 1980s up to the present day. They were most commonly seen at training airfields—such as Engels base in Russia—where their main task was the comprehensive training of crews in the full operation of the avionics and procedures of the military Tu-160. The most distinctive feature of the UBL version is a specific "nose" section that imitates a bomber radar dome.

Scale
1/144

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
