Usage and historical inspiration

The Summer Kursk Earth colour was developed based on original soil samples from the Kursk area, known for one of the largest tank battles of World War II – the Battle of Kursk (July–August 1943). This region is characterized by light, yellowish-brown, dusty soil typical of the summer, dry climate of central Russia. It is the perfect choice for weathering armoured vehicles used by Germany, the USSR, and other armies during WWII, as well as reproducing steppe and other semi-arid landscapes in any theatres of war.

The pigment is excellent for painting signs of wear, dirt on tracks, rims and undercarriages of tanks, vehicles, self-propelled guns or artillery from the World War II era, as well as for creating ultra-realistic terrain in dioramas.
