Historical description: The Curtiss P-40 is one of the most important fighter aircraft used by the Allies during World War II. This plane gained fame through its involvement with the legendary "Flying Tigers" in China and Burma at the turn of 1941–1942. It also fought fiercely during the Japanese southern offensive, defending Australia, and took part in air battles over the Solomon Islands, Rabaul, and New Guinea. A valuable part of the book is the description of the participation of Australian and New Zealand units, as well as the stories of Chinese squadrons flying the P-40 Warhawk in the final years of the war. The publication also presents the post-war use of the P-40 in Dutch service during the conflicts in Indonesia.
