Trumpeter 06742 HMS Colombo is a highly detailed plastic model kit representing the British Royal Navy light cruiser from both the interwar period and World War II. The HMS Colombo entered service in 1919 and took part in many key Royal Navy operations. The cruiser remained active in the Far East, served in American-Indian waters, and later became part of the Eastern Fleet. It participated in the chase of the German warships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. In 1942-1943, it was converted into a specialized anti-aircraft defense cruiser and remained actively engaged in the world’s waters until the end of the war. Ultimately decommissioned, it was scrapped in 1948.
